POCT across Canada.
Point-of-care testing (POCT) centers around delivering patient-focused medical care through diagnostic assessments conducted close to or at the patient's location. These tests play a critical role in potentially altering the patient's treatment. This learning and engagement hub is meant to enhance and facilitate further access to various POCT modalities.
POCT serves to inform therapeutic choices and bolster medical services. It is commonly administered by healthcare professionals, certified providers, and occasionally by patients themselves. Settings for POCT include hospitals, clinics, labs, pharmacies, doctors' offices, ambulances, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, homes, and various community point-of-care locations.
